When we buy low-cost clothes, we don\u2019t think about the consequences. With just one click, we can purchase cheap items and receive them quickly, but while our shopping cart fills up, the planet is losing its resources.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Fast fashion, <\/span><\/span>managed by<\/span><\/span><\/a> major companies like Shein and Zara, has revolutionized the textile industry by focusing on speed, continuous collections, and very low prices. The problem is that the environment cannot sustain this pace.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

An Industry Moving Too Fast<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Fashion once followed the seasons; today it follows the algorithm, with new items constantly being released. This leads to impulse purchases and clothes that are worn only a few times.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Textile production is highly polluting: it requires large amounts of water, releases microplastics, and generates huge quantities of waste, often disposed of in developing countries.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Human Cost<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Behind the affordable price tag lies another reality: textile factories with intense work rhythms and minimum wages. The pressure to produce quickly and cheaply can result in precarious conditions for millions of workers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Globalization has fragmented the production chain: buyers never really know what happens behind the scenes. Yet every garment has a story, made of hands, time, and resources.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Green or Greenwashing?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In recent years, many companies have announced \u201ceco\u201d lines and recycling programs. But experts ask: are these real changes or just marketing strategies?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The problem lies in the production model: as long as enormous quantities are produced at breakneck speed, the environmental impact will continue to grow.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A Possible Revolution<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Something is changing. The second-hand market is growing, clothing rental for special events is spreading, and ethical, local brands are emerging. More and more young people are talking about \u201cslow fashion\u201d: buying less, choosing better, and prioritizing quality and durability.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The real turning point could start with consumers. Every purchase is a choice that supports an economic model. Asking ourselves, \u201cDo I really need this?\u201d can be a revolutionary act.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A Matter of Responsibility<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Fast fashion is not just a matter of style, but of sustainability and social justice. The low price we see is only part of the equation. The rest is paid by the environment and often by those who work behind the scenes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps it is time to slow down. Because in the race for ever-faster fashion, the planet risks being left behind.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
